Welcome, friends and soon to be friends. So glad you stopped by and I hope you come back from time to time. Let me tell you a little about me and maybe in the comments you can share a little about you. Don’t worry, we have time. No sense trying to fit it all in at once.
I am Diane and I am a writer. But not just any writer. I like to dabble in the realms of “What-if” and “Oh-Snap, that is awesome”. Have you been there? If so, you know just what I’m talking about. If not, let me learn you.
“What-if” is the place where dreams reside. It is the the place where there may be no gravity or people can fly. It is the place of childhood and if we close our eyes and take a deep breath, we can all go there. Let me show you…
Gently close your eyes and intake air. Feel your lungs expand and your limbs go limp. Listen for the tick of the clock or the tweet of a bird. Got it? Now breath out and let everything around you slide away. The walls around you disappear and it’s just you, the clock and the bird. Slowly your body lifts and you and the bird become one. The clock ticks but it is no longer a clock. It has become the swoop of your wings and puffy clouds made of cotton candy stretch before you. Glide, little bird, glide.
See that? With breath, stillness and imagination, you soared. That is a realm of “What if” and I love to spend my days there.
But what about “Oh-Snap, that was really awesome”? Well that is “What if ” on crack. Let me show you.
You are soaring but the clouds are no longer cotton candy. They are angry. A storm is brewing, and you are not a little bird anymore. You are a fierce dragon warrior on a quest to return fire to your clan. It was stolen by the Wicked Wind Witch a year ago and your clan is dying in droves. See, fire is one half of a dragon’s soul. But you know that already, right?
See that? Shifting perception just the slightest and adding a little something wonderful and you cross into “Oh-Snap, that is awesome. It’s where I go at night when the house is quiet and no one knows I am a dragon warrior chasing the wind for fire.
This is where we begin a journey of dreaming and I hope you all enjoy the ride as much I am will.
Peace, love and God’s will.
